What if you could hear color? See sound? Taste words? Synesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon in which the stimulation of one sense triggers an automatic, involuntary experience in another. Some synesthetes perceive music as color, others associate a particular taste with each letter of the alphabet. I experience spacial sequence synesthesia: I visualize numerical sequences and units of time in physical space. My research on this phenomenon has prompted me to study the various ways in which sensory experiences of form, texture, and color interact with one another. In this collection, I explore the relationships between texture and space, color and temperature, and perceived and actual form. The oil paintings and the textile pieces inform and mimic one another. Each work is a point in a sequence.

I hope you enjoy them.
